Elton John – Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player

are probably as close to identical as you get. In its variants, it includes the A3/B3 mentioned here.
Compare the labels. I can't see any difference, except the yellow is more washed out here.

Phenomenal sounding translucent red UK hot-wax, from the opening notes of 'Daniel' you know you are in for a sonic treat. Amazing clarity to Elton's voice & keys, note-for-note bass & good punchy drums all artfully mixed in a wonderfully enveloping stereo soundstage. LPs like this are the reason listening to vinyl can be a truely special occasion...

Encouraged by Elton's movie, I decided to complete my Elton John albums, of course what I achieved are reissues since I am not interested in used vinyl.
I was surprised by this 2017 EU reissue. Silent and flat pressing, without pops or clicks, clean silences and a very pleasant sound with well-marked bass.
I think it is an excellent purchase and the best you can get from this great Elton John album.

Mine is a poor, used copy. Clicks and pops all over it. Yet it's still enjoyable! How is that possible? Is it because the mastering resisted the test of time? Or is it because Elton's magic transcends the quality?

Horrible looking platters. Is there a CD edition in the pipeline?
Most of the 70s classics have been issued as Deluxe or Anniversary editions.
I have them all on CD and vinyl up to 1991.
The CD editions make more sense to me as new vinyl sounds terrible.

Looks like a UK pressing/ release if you ask me, judging by the inner and labels...

My grandmother gave me this LP for my 12th birthday! It never sounded this good, or looked this good! Full on glossy cover as Elton always wanted and intended for the U.S. version, which it never had. He also wasn't thrilled with gluing the book in, so that is another original touch from the original DJM (UK) issue. I think this is a fantastic release!! Clean, quiet vinyl. Demos are great and interesting as they are almost deconstructionist at times. "Jack Rabbit" demo was a revelation and hysterical too! Digital would be a nice plus. Especially at 24bit.

The record labels in the picture show a Hong Kong record ,the small boxed "COPYRIGHT CONTROL" to the centre left is evidence, Its not a U.K press record ,but may ...may. well have been sold in a U.K sleeve as other Elton records were ... ,and owing to the complexities of the sleeve /booklet ,a U.K sleeve is highly likely i believe. .
